In regard to the feather for Effie - you can
get very good ones for from five to ten dollars.
Effie probably said what she did to put you
off the tack of buying any for her - &
in regard to the board - I said that if
you were not allowed to pay board that
you would have to buy something very
very nice for Effie - (a box of candy
is no return at all for what you have
had from them) - You cannot return
all they have done for you - since they
won't let you pay board, but you should
