Dear Madam.

Some few years back when
you kindly made the monument in
memory of Father Junipero Serra, my
father in apreciation [sic] of what you
did for Father Junipero he sent you
a view and frame, of Father Junipero
when he first landed at Monterey,
and said his first Mass under an
Oak tree on the June 3, 1770, and
not hearing from you nor if you
receive it. My father was Stevan
de la Torre, he was the one that sent
the frame, we kind of think that
the {packing?} that we sent the picture
with maybe sent it in his own
name, So please ans and let me
know if you recieved [sic] it. with no
more excuse me for bothering
