The above section represents the rocks of Eastern Wisconsin, so far as they are now determined.
1st Limestone of L Michigan and the Milwaukee river 3 to 8 miles north of the city.
2d Limestone of the Menomonee
3d Waukesha Limestone, white even layers with Orthocratites
4th Red Sandstone hid by drift.
5th Jerico Limestone
All having a dip towards Lake Michigan, and showing an anticlinal axis somewhere in the interior between Lake Michigan & the Mississippi - probably near Rock River as represented on the next page.
