Sun 18 Sept. 64 / peaches / Cider
I have stayed at home William & Margaret went & brought
some good peaches which I enjoyed verry much No particular
news. We have some good cider & are drinking it. It has turned
some cooler a little fire of Morning & evenings is verry
agreeable

Mon 19 / Corn / Work / Draft / Thomas
The morning is clear & cool No news from the previous
night. The corn in our old Cribs are all out & we have com-
menced feeding out of the new Nothing doing around the plan-
tation. I am verry tyred of it I went to Town Many people
there greate uneasiness with regard to the enrolment & draft

Thomas was there Fanna & children well he is a little
unwell & some uneasy with regart to Govr Johnsons procklimation
for enrolment of all from 18 to 50. White & blacks

Tu 20 / Escape Reble prisoners / fight Lincoln
I went to Town after dinner Not many people & but little
news The enrolment of all from 18 to 50 is the all important
question of the day. News that 5,000 reble prisoners made there
escape from Camp Chase the 16th Inst. There are greate prep-
eration making for a fight at or near Petersburg It will come
off before the President Election & the Fedrel Arms must be
Victors or else Lincolns Election will go by the Way of the
Bord
