Fri Dec 21 Clear still and very comfortable
in the middle of the day but quite sharp at the ends.
Lew went over to Charleys to plow his onion ground
but found too much frost in the ground to do much
plowing but he done the best he could and brought
home a pretty good load of green cotton wood
at night. I whitewashed the hen house
down by the barn and done some more
work to it and John went to school.

Sat Dec 22 Another delightful day clear
still and warm. Lew went to town and brought out
Meda and helped unload the load of hay. John and I
took out and put into the cellar two holes of potatoes
one for ourselves and the other for pigs and cows.
Then we hauled a load of hay for the barn loft.

Sun Dec 23 Fine as ever. Lew and Mary
went up to John Dragers harvest not back yet.
Meda and John went up to Charleys
and Mother and I kept Sunday.

Mon Dec 24 It looked sort of squally
until after 3 oclock then it snowed a little
dab and I guess that it is not done yet. Johny
went home to day to stay until towards the
latter part of the week. Lew and I delivered 15 sacks
of alfalfa seed to Mr Rugh and got 5 cts a pound
for it and paid Johny off by paying him $10.65 cts
and ten dollars for three calves that we bought
in the fall. I paid Pete Anderson 6.50 and
Mr Herner 15 dollars and have a little left.
