139 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Jan 7 1887 is passed by the following vote, viz: In favor of the same [[Furth]], [[Green]], [[Hinckley]], [[Lake]], [[Russell]] & [[Reitze]] against none. Ordered that the council do now adhourn [[W H Shoudy]] mayor Attest [[W R Forrest]], clerk Jan 21 1887 Be it remembered that on this 21st day of Jany 1887 The Common Council of the City of Seattel meets in its Council chamber pursuant to law. The follow- ing officers are present to wit: Mayor [[W A Shoudy]] and Councilmen [[J Furth]], [[J M Frink]], [[Jos Green]], [[T D Hinckley]], [[R Russell]] & [[C F Reitze]]. The following proceedings are had to wit: The minutes of the last meeting are read and approved. Petitions Rec'd From [[Charles Hopkins]] et al for sidewalk on West side of [[Front Street]] from [[Cracker Factory]] to north side of [[Union Street]]. Granted & Sidewalk ordered constructed. From [[Gordon Hardware Co]] for permission to carry stock of 100 pounds of powder in their store on [[Front Street]] and same quantity in their warehouse on [[Gilman]]'s Wharf. Granted From [[Hardy & Hall]] for permission to store one hundred pounds of powder in their store on [Front Street]] Granted on condition that petitioners keep a sign conspicuously displayed to the effect that they are licensed to carry powder.
