Fanjas de St Fond the celebrated naturalist. At that time
& in a previous tome? while a Student of Medicine, he re eived
great kindness & attention from Sir John Darby?ple and
Lord Dundonald & many other of the , most distinguidhed Character
in Scotland. (See letters in Box)* He returned to Tortola
with the intention of practisingphysic there, & the expecta-
tion of marrying an heiress miss R H but the match
was broken off by some treacherous means
