Other case that I could imagine, could I be willing
to dissent from my Uncle, yet I would wish him to
permit me to in this ^unless the good of the Seminary forbids, -- A new difficulty however,
on this score offers; -- The Charter (mayn't I so call it?)
requires 1/3 to be Clergymen -- and I think a just pro
portion: Miss^rs Symmes & French only are apply'd
to -- the three Brothers -- Wendell Lowell & Abbot with
the Master make 7 - consequently that clause
must be alter'd or two more added; which will be
preferable? --- But I must not add: -- only, that
I shall be happy to write every Opp^y, and more so
by far to receive your direction & Counsel: --

Please, Sir, to accept for yourself &
my Aunt, M^rs Phillips's dutiful addresses
together with those of

Your much obliged
and very dutiful Nephew
S. Phillips, Jr.

The Copy of the Indenture
herewith sent, is to give
you notice, where we are;
Alterations are necessary, we find
and hope to ^be informed of those you
would make.

Dear Brd: as this comes unseal'd from My Sons, venture to add
that the Bearer puts himself in some respect out of his way to deliver
this seasonable, Therefore if and for his faithfulness in delivering your's
seems to deserve your thanks, as he has had those very heartily from
your loving Brd---
