My dear Son

I hope you have compleated
your Oration, & recd the corrections of Mr. Abbot
or Professor Pearson - & that you will have it at
your tongue's end - don't have it to
exceed 12 minutes with a [underscore] slow [/underscore] delivery.

I spoke of your having Sherry, - but prefer
your getting mediera - I hope Mr. cooper will
chose it for you. If you are hurried about
your preparations, [strikethrough] Miss Sally [/underscore] Mr. Phillips will be good eno'
to take measures for obtaining it - and I shall
speak to Miss Sally about it - that you need not
let a care about that matter [insertion] or about [gd?] cheese & crackers [/insertion] interfere with your
[underscore] preparations for the public performances; [/underscore] and
I hope you will not suffer any College company of any thing
