advice what college to go to and when to go, I have become
a beneficer to American Education Society and what they
give me will no more than pay my board, lights & wood
and such like expense, And you knowing my circumstances
can judge when and where I had better go, I want you
should write and tell me soon what I ought to calculate
upon, I want very much to come to Yale, but I shall have
poor cloths next fall, I have been solicited by my classmates
to go to Amherst, and I think that or Yale will be best for me
I want you should give me your advice in full and I think
that will direct my course, remember you brought me here and
may God direct you to direct me whither to go next, my health
has been good through the term, I have not missed a lesson
or recitation, I love Mr Johnson very much he often enquires
of me concerning you, Addison after so long a time has
come to Andover, he has entered school, he entered one
week before vacation commenced in [Selecta?], and as
near as I can learn does very well, I hvae endeavored
to communicate to him what you did for me and shall
learn him to take right hold of business by the
foretop or advise him to go home, Wm. calculates
to come in the spring, so you may see that you broke
up the nest, I feel many times that this is a very import
part of my existence, and that much is depending
on a few years of the present, I received a number of letters
from my friends they are all well, My brother older than
myself has been married since I left, Martia is calculating
to attend school this winter at the academy, Miss Birke
is there yet, she came from Hanover, one of our students
is acquainted with her, Addison says that Mr. Crocker has
had a very good school this summer about half of which
were infidels, Mr [Halimore?] Meeting house has been completed & ddicated,
Henrietta Meetings are about the same, Addison & his
brother younger (Briant) have united with the church, Briant
was a convert of last Springs Meeting, Brown has not collected
that money yet for you, I know of no other news at present that will
interest you, I am goin off this vacation, having been invited to spend
