Rev. C.C. Carpenter: My Brother could give me no light on names of our Grandfather and Grandmother - except that he thought the [latters?] [sis?] name was Bush that is my own impression, I wrote to Uncle J.B Turner of Jacksonvill Ill - HE write that Grandfathers name was Samuel as a brothers son was named after him - I wrote to Mrs Samuel Turner of Quincy ill sons wife of my Aunt Hannah - They had records but could not find them and think that a sister

had taken them away after the death of my Aunt. They would write her immediately for a copy. I am expecting daily to hear from them again. I will write to Bakersfield Vt. this morning to a daugthter of my uncle who lived there and see if she has any records I hope still to obtain what you want and what I too shall be glad to know.

I have at last secured the record of my grandfathers family -
Samuel Baker, son of Samuel and Suzanna [Tainter?] Baker, married hannah Bush of Marlboro Mass, May 25th 1778 There were fourteen children of whom Oliver was the thirteenth born July 17, 1801 d. Mar. 15, 134 Otis was the fourteenth b - Sept 27th 1803 d - Feb 8-1833 Both these young men studied for the ministry, and died before completing their studies. I think they were
