Dear Father

I now take up my pen to adress [address] you for the second
time since you have been at Washington. I am in good health
hoping you [an?] the same. I room with Ben & Levi Hoppin &
a student in the institution. I wish you would send me the
[newspapers?] for I want some employment for the long
Winter evenings for although I study an hour & an half &
I begin at 6 oclock I have a great deal of time. I am almost
through the 1st Oration against Cataline [Catiline] in Cicero.
We have fine skating here & the boys have fine fun [?]
last term [we] had nothing to do. I wrote a letter home
the other day. There are about one hundred and ten sholars [scholars]
in the Academy Now my dear Father I have wrote all the
news & I now [subscribe?] myself your affectionate son
