at home ever seemed half so splendid. The
distant mountains how majestic they look as
their towering heights peirce the skies. Those
ragged peaks break asunder the clouds and the
last bright rays of the sun are forming through
to bid farewell to day. After viewing such a scene
the mind is led upward to the author of all
that is beautiful. How wonderful are his works. At
this season of the year everything calls upon us to
lift our feeble hearts to him in gratitude &
praise. And shall we be backward in our duty
when all nature calls so loudly upon us? Shall
we be cold & dumb when the little birds morning
& evening chant his praises? No, we will be thankful
& give praises to Him to whom they are due.

You will please excuse haste &
ever remember me your eldest
and affectionate
son Leonard

P.S. I almost forgot one beverage which we think will
be a benefit to us-- A bottle of that cider which
has been clarified-- We are not going to get into bad
habits I hope. if you think we are by means of cider don't
send it. If there is soon please send a bottle of molasses.

Yours Very truly
L.
