May 5 Met according to adjournment and performed
as usual. Voted that Choate be invited to
become a member of the society. Voted that
the memoirs of L. Richmond be
purchased for the library. Adjourned.
May 13 Met according to adjournment & proceeded to the choice
of officers. Chose C Noble, President WS Coggin, Vice President,
B Coolidge, Librarian, O Emerson to ring the
bell see to the lamps &c on the ensuing term, and
Messers Keyes and Manning Committee. The Society
then attended to the address of the President. After
which sold to Mr Foster a Book called the fool of Judity
and received 27 cts as payment, likewise excused
Mr Bell from the Society untill [sic] he regained his health as
he requested, and remitted Mr Searle fine previously
imposed upon him. Imposed upon Mr Coffin a
fine of 25 cts for absence. Voted that Millers clerical
lectures should be purchased for the library. Adjourned
June 11 Met according to adjournment, and performed
as usual. Dismissed Mr Emerson (as he requested)
from the duty of takeing [sic] care of the lamps ring
