December Tuesday. Society convened. After the incipi-
ent duties, there was a speaking contest betwwen Palmer
Winslow, Holmes, and Smith on the one side and
Hackett, Hearns, Newell, and Farum on the other
A superiority adjudged to neither party. The society then
proceeded to an election of offices for a court to be hol-
den in the third Tuesday succeeding the present, and the
following persons were appointed
Winslow - Judge
Hackett - States Attorney
Hearns - Clerk
Dearborne - Sheriff
Farnum
Smith - Committee of Arrangment
Stocker
Exercises of the next meeting were then made known and the
society adjourned.
