Society conveded and the meet
ing was opened in the usual form.
There were declamations by Hackett +
Stearns, a part of an original declam-
ation by Shaw and a debate on the ques
tion. Is it more advatagous to commend
a course of studies at a very early age than at
a more advanced period after having been
engaged in some manual employment.
Supported by Farnum in the affirmative
and Stocker in the negative. Society dec-
ided in the negative. The question was then
put Has any member of this society a
right to take books from the library in
the absence of the librarian. Voted that he
has not. The parts for ext meeting were
then assigned and society adjourned to
seven oclock the next Teusday
