Hi,
Line 1: the last word is perhaps a shortening/mangling of Honourable?
Line 6: I know in the heading this letter is dated 27th of Dec but is it the 21st? A funny looking one with "st" after it?
Line 13: Is a place name I can't decipher I'm sorry!
Line 18: is Henry Challinor's signature I guess - I wasn't sure how to represent that in the transcription

Hmmmm, maybe it is the 21st ... nice catch.

No worries! I'm not sure if the 21st ruins timelines though? I made the mistake of looking at Henry Challinor on Wikipedia and see in the third paragraph under the Civic Life heading a quote saying "the said Aboriginals were wilfully and wantonly murdered on the twenty-fourth day of December last". Which apparently comes from an item in the QLD State Archives "JUS/N3". Which is perhaps this: https://www.archivessearch.qld.gov.au/items/ITM348602

Hopefully you have access to the state archives?

Anyway, I guess if the record of the inquest in the state archives quotes Henry Challinor saying the massacre happened on the 24th then the date of the letter has to be the 27th?
