Sir

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your
letter of the 21st December last wherein you direct the attention of the
Government to the necessity of affording Native Police protection to
the settlers in the Upper Flinders River and to inform you that the
Subject of Police protection in the outlying Districts of the Colony
is now engrossing my serious attention and I trust that the Government
will shortly be in a position to remove the difficulty under which you
in Common with your neighbours at present appear to be labouring.

I have &c

I found much of this letter blurry and difficult to read. Hopefully it was because of the photocopy and not my eyes!

Queensland Frontier Conflict

Definitely not your eyes!
