A meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of Kingston was held this
day. Present
His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen
Behan, Curtis, Drennan, Martin, McKelvey, Newlands,
Richardson, Ryan, Skinner, Stewart, Strainge, Tait, Walkem

The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting.

Communications summarized by the Clerk were read and referred as follows: -

From Thomas Beasley, City Clerk Hamilton enclosing petition Re Legislature
to assume management of Industrial School at Mimico and requesting co-operation
of Council. Referred to the Committee on Finance.

From the Westinghouse Air Brake Co. Re location of Works. - Referred
to the Committee on Finance.

From H.R. Gray Secretary The Facer Solid Car Wheel Co of Perth
acknowledging receipt of resolution of Council. - Referred to the Committee on
Finance.

From James Gilmour asking payment for sweeping chimney.
Referred to the Committee on Fire, Water and Light.

From the City Clerk and others giving statement of the summing up
of the votes on the $20,000 School By Law stating the majority for By Law
61 votes - Filed.

From Charles D. Chown asking rent of verandah North side of Market.
Referred to the Committee on City Property and Market.

From John Macdonald Secretary Treasurer Public School Board
Re Debentures for building School House. - Referred to Committee on Finance.

From Mary Hunter and others Re Taxes. - Referred to the Court of
Revision.

From the Royal Humane Society London, England respecting
Gunner John Bramah Re saving life. - Referred to the Mayor.

From F.C. Ireland, City Treasurer stating amount of fees received (1077.30)
to date for Market No 1. - Referred to the Committee on Finance.

From George Thompson Collector of Taxes stating taxes collected to date.

From the Fruit Growers Association Grimsby L. Woolserton Secy
Re holding its meeting in this City. - Referred to the Committee on Finance.

From the City Solicitor enclosing appeal Bond Re: Drennan vs Kingston

On motion of Ald: Skinner seconded by Ald: Robertson

Ordered, That the Mayor be authorized on behalf of the City to sign
appeal bond Re Drennan vs Kingston

Ald Drennan brought up the petition of Thomas Mills re Taxes.
Referred to the Court of Revision.

Ald: Richardson from the Committee on Finance and accounts
brought up Reports (Numbers 1355 & 1356 Book G) which were read & adopted.
