Ald: Walkem introduced By Law 533 entitled, A By Law to
Authorize the Head and Treasurer of the Corporation of the City of Kingston
to borrow certains sums to meet the now current expenditure, which was
read a first time.

The 30th Rule was suspended and the Council went into
Committee of the whole, on the second reading.

Ald: Carson in the Chair.

The Council resumed.

The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the second reading of the
By Law clause by clause. The Report was received.

The 30th Rule was again suspended and the By Law was read a third
time and passed.

Ald: Carson introduced By Law 534 entitled "A By Law to fill the
vacancy on the Boardof Trustees of the Kingston Collegiate Institute, caused by the
resignations of Professor N.F Dupuis and to appoint Professor L.W. Doyle in his place
which was read a first time.

The 30th Rule was suspended and the Council went into Committee
of the whole on the second reading.

Ald: Curtis in the Chair.

The Council resumed.

The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the second reading of the
By Law clause by clause. - The Report was received.

The 30th Rule was again suspended and the By Law was read
a third time and passed.

On motion the Council adjourned.

A meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of Kingston was held
this day. Present

Allen, Behan, Carson, Donnelly, Drennan, Hewton, Martin,
Milne, Minnes, Redden, Robinson, Skinner, Stewart,
Strainge, Tait, Walkem.

The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting. Communications summarized
by the Clerk were read and referred as follows:-

From G.R. Robinson Manager Bank British North America asking
for certain repairs to the Bank premises. - Referred to Committee on City
Property.
