A Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City
of Kingston was held this day Present

His Worship the Mayor

Aldermen
Allen, John Carson, R.J. Carson, Clements
Craig, Creeggan, Downing, Dupuis, J.P.
Gildersleeve, Gordon, Irving, Law, Little, McCammon
McGuire, McIntyre, Quigley, Redden, Smythe
Wilson

The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting

On motion of Ald: Smythe seconded by Ald: J.P. Gildersleeve
Ordered, that the Council go into Committee of the
whole on the second reading of the Consolidated By Laws

The Council went into Committee of the whole
accordingly

Ald: Redden in the Chair

The Council resumed

The Committee rose, reported progress and asked leave
to sit again, The Report was received

Ald: Irving from the Committee on Finance
and Accounts brought up a Report (Number 132 Book E)
which was read and adopted

The Chairman from the Committee on Streets
and Improvements brought up a Report (Number 133 Book E)
which was read and adopted

The Report of the Auditors for 1881 was read
submitting in duplicate Abstract Statements &c which was
referred to the Finance Committee

Communications from James Agnew Esquire
City Solicitor were read the one enclosing Communication
of S.C. McGill Esquire Secretary Kingston Street Railway
Company stating that when repairs are made cars will be
run over the Williamsville end of Road. The other] In Re
Hutchins vs Kingston - arrears of Taxes. There was no
action taken thereon

Ald: McIntyre brought up the petition of the officers
of the Corporation praying for an increase of their salaries
Referred to the Committee On Finance &c

Ald: McCammon brought up the petition of Samuel
Cannem and 14 others praying for repairs to be done to Victoria
street Rideau Ward. Referred to the Committee on
Streets &c

Ald: Downing brought up the petition of John McMillan
and 17 others praying for the erection of a Fire Alarm on King street
near Morton Wood - also a Lamp Post at the Corner of Livingston
avenue and King Street. Referred to the Comittee on Fire
Water and Gas
