Kingston April 28th 1882

A Special Meeting of the Council of the Corporation
of the City of Kingston was held this day. Present

His Worship the Mayor

Aldermen
Allen, John Carson, R.J. Carson, Clements
Craig, Creeggan, Downing, Dupuis C.F. J.P.
Gildersleeve, McCammon, McIntyre, Quigley
Smythe

The Mayor stated the meeting was called to consider the Tenders
received for the Market Tolls. And to take up consolidation
of By Laws.

Tenders for Market Number one were opened
and read as follows:
Robert Keys $427.00
Herman Berry $405.00
Thomas Moore $251.00

Also Tenders for Market Number Two
Herman Berry $117.00
Robert Keys $67.00
Herman Berry 110.00

On motion of Ald: McCammon seconded by Ald: Smythe
Ordered, that the Tender of Mr. R. Keys for Market
No 1 being the highest be accepted

On motion of Ald: McCammon seconded by Ald: Smyth[e]
Ordered, that no Tender be accepted for Market No
2 but the toll be collected under the supervision of the Clerk of the Market

The Council went into Committee of the whole on
the second reading of the Consolidated By Laws

Ald: J. Carson in the Chair

The Council Resumed

The Committee rose, reported progress and asked leave
to sit again. The Report was received

On motion the Council adjourned
