Report of the sixth meeting of the Kingston Driving Club

The want of Punctuality is seldom if ever, excusable, and
when fair Ladies are kept out in the cold freezing their
delicate hands, and making the dear little Noses on their
pretty faces, to assume rather a red appearance, it is still
the more reprehensible, therefore on the present instance,
it calls for the marked Displeasure of the wretched Individual
who is by the rules of this club told to indite a report of our
[amusing?] Description, he cannot however help it if he fails
so to do for he feels conscious that the possibility of nature
having provided his "Cranium" with flour, instead of brains
is not to be sneered at with this perhaps petty excuse
he throws himself on the mercy of the ladies of the Club,
and proceeds to state his reason, for first mentioning
the non attendance at the proper hour, on Friday last
On entering the square of the Bible Brigade the Vice
perceived an ancient and much esteemed member of the
Club who is in the happy possession of a pair very grey
whiskers, and who generally drives a pair of sporting Hacks,
seated in a disconsolate manner by himself, with a careworn
expression of Countenance, showing great anxiety and
trouble of mind. He stated he was the President, but
seemed doubtful where he was to find the Club or
indeed if ever they would arrive and in fact had any
