The report of the last weeks proceedings having been read
and duly applauded, we again took our seats and whip in
hand were led across the ice towards Barriefield where we turned
[strikethrough] [?] [/strikethrough] back and passing through part of the town went on to the ice
again in the direction of the shoal tower - . Before we had gone
far every sleigh suddenly was reined up, and the vice observed
that a slight difference of opinion was taking place between our
president and his favorite "Jenny [Jeany]" in consequence of the reins
having got under her tail; however having pacified her by
the indulgence of a few minutes contemplation of the sports
of the curling rink, we again proceeded onwards. Here
the vice must not omit some lines descriptive of this
incident, whereby hung a "tail" furnished him by a
talented poet resident in Sydenham Street.
