April 4th At daylight saw the land and soon made it
out to be Cape Frio, and as there was but a very light air
we shaped a course for Rio - 9.30 went to General Quarters
only one on the list. In the afternoon there was a fine
breeze, when we made sail, and came to an anchor
in 15 fths. close to the Markas, the same place where
the Admiral went ashore when in us - Here there is a
Cholera Hospital - but I suppose very few patients ever
go there, as it is about 12 miles from Rio.
