Irene Dixon Bamford’s husband Captain William Wells Bamford (1834-1913)
He was born on Jefferson County, New York, and passed and buried on Wolfe Island, ON.
He has five biological children with Irene: Isabelle May “Belle” Bamford Halliday, William Wells Bamford Jr, James Devolson Bamford, John Dixon Bamford, and Grace Darling Bamford Gaskin.
They have three known adopted children: Maude Watson, Edith and Emma.
It is unknown whether Arthur was also adopted into the family but he lived with the Bamfords as a young teenager.
In the diaries, he is referred to as Wells, Wells Sr., or Will. Irene interchanges the name Will to mean either her husband Wells or her son Welly.
