The Niles are the Bamford’s neighbors.

Captain George H Niles (1875-1946), often referred to as George in the diaries, was a sea captain born on Cape Vincent, died in Kingston, and buried at Saint Lawrence United Church Cemetery. He was a sea captain for the Cleveland Cliff company for 26 years before becoming a Wolfe Island farmer. He was the son of Mr. And Mrs. John Niles of Wolfe Island. He had lived on Wolfe Island since he was six years old. He was married to Olive E Hall Niles. He had two sons: Wallace and Howard. His siblings included John Niles, Mrs. C Henderson, and Mrs. George Woodman. He had four grandchildren. [note: more research needed about his familial relations cause these are who survived him]
