Description
William Collins “Will” Dixon I (1859-1942) was Irene Dixon Bamford’s youngest brother. He was born on Wolfe Island and died and buried in Jefferson County. He was married to Jennie Duggin in 1885 and the two lived on Wolfe Island until 1901. They moved to Watertown after and his wife died in 1932.
In the diaries, Irene refers to him as Will or, in some cases, Will Dixon.

It appears that she writes out Will Woodman’s full name when she has previously used the name Will earlier in her entry as a way to distinguish the men. Most of the time, understanding the context is the only way to understand who she is referring to.
