July 19 Wednesday
I dont feel
very well at all but had a visitor
all day. Mr Goodfellow came in the
morning and stayed 'till after dark.
Talked potry [sic] ancient and modern
history, read and lay in Hammock
for the first time and looked through
the marine glasses for the first time

July 20 Thursday A very fine day
Wind South no rain. Wellie
and I went to K. Belle went
too. great time all neighbors out
getting their cheese money at
the bank. Had a very pleasant
day, paid some of Wells debts.
I drew, 15 dollars on an Order.
Wells sent to pay off hired help.
Miss Bird came down with Wickham
to Wills Dixon. Goodfellow went up
on the boat this morning with his
bycicle [sic]
