11 Oclock PM and later Voltie
at the barn so Mart says. I have
just been up stairs to ask him if
he knows where Volty is. The Niles
children here and Frank Woodman
this evening. Mart, George, Well and
Frank played cards in kitchen. Voltie
and the girls in the parlor with Maude
and Irene too. A very fine warm
day, snow nearly gone, ice very poor.
Mart went to the Bay for tobaco.
Will went too for oil. Laura Smith
sick abed. Eveline there all day.
Wellie at home taking care of the children.
Grace went down and stayed awhile
this afternoon and going again tomorrow.
Wells and Voltie & Wellie hewed timber
for the new barn. John Nesbit got in
the ice. 12 past eleven. Voltie says
there is a new calf at the barn, the first
one. no going anywhere unless
absolute a nessesity [sic] compels, the roads
and ice almost impassable. Eddy Bates
went across to his summers work at Pritmans
afraid there would soon be no crossing
or would not have gone so soon.
