Sunday 25th March 1894
Easter Sunday a rather cold
gray cloudy day. Wind NW.
Ground frozen so cold the Rev
would not come from Marysville
to preach. A quiet day no one here
except Welly. We had fried eggs for
breakfast 12 & gave Wells Jr 10 all I had
with milk, butter & dutch cheese.
Wells not very cheerful. Grace gone to
J.P. to Easter. I read Talmage and
home at 8 PM. An invitation for G
& V, at W.G.W.'s's Tuesday evening, a sugar party.
Monday 26 March
A cold frozen morning.
Wells arose at "five O'clock in the morning" built
a fire and took the oars which he had
borrowed from J.N. last night and went to
W Jr's for the skiff and went over the
river again this morning going to Clayton
again to see LLD Morse about the
Lidy place again. I think he will
