Sunday 24 June 1894
the very warmest hotest day yet. A thunder
shower came up black in S.W. but
steered off to the North and kept out
of our way. Scarcely a breeze to ripple
the river. Hens and chickens around
with their mouths open panting for
breath. No person here this day. Grace
taking a nap & Voltie sleeping. Mr
Armstrong preached to day. Oh to hot for
comfort. We may get a shower yet. Rambling
of Thunder heard afar off somewhere.
George Docteur and J Murphy called here this
evening inviting Voltie and Grace to a picnik
up the Island. Some rain with thunder & lightning.
Monday 25 June
A fine breezy day.
Wind South. Boys working on the road
ie Wells Jr, Devolson & Mart. Grace done big
washing and began making her
print dress.
