Friday 13th July 1894
Looks like rain
this morning but clouds clear away
with a brisk breeze from S. Mart
came home this morning from Johns, he
stayed all night at Dodges and came over in
punt with a strong breeze after him. A
hot day with some thunder and showers going
around to Eastward. All hands working
at the hay. We had pease [sic] for dinner. A
singing party at the feet to night.
Saturday 14 looks very much like rian
in the morning. Wind South but
clears up brightly, sun pouring down,
heat most too warm for farmers to work
in field only for a spanking breeze
from south.
Saturday July 14th 1894
Arose at 4 O'clock
called Voltie and he went immediately
to Wellies. They intend to draw hay all
day but it rains before 8 O'clock hard
spoiling their hay drawing. Well they will
hoe potatoes. Mart went to factory this morning.
