Wind South,
thunders this morning before day light
thought it would rain but is very
hot day, no rain and a thick smoke.
Grace washed. I churned and
gathered apples. Maude went to school to
Miss Harpells first day for Maude.

Wind South & breezy.
No rain, smoky.
Voltie better & out gathering corn, beans,
punkins [sic]. Wellie working at home.
I can 6 Corns, tomatoes, picked up apples,
pared a pan full to dry, churned
and skimed [sic] mik [sic], rained a little
after sundown. At lightnes some
Maude went to school.
