Saturday 10 Oct 1894
Oh what a dreary dismal rainy snowy
windy day. Grace done all the
cleaning and washed some things.
I darned and took care of the mill.
Voltie churned in the evening. Voltie,
Edith & Grace sang and played
organ all the evening. Wellie bought
horse of John McKoen and gave him
for the horse, old roan cow and 1 1/2 tun
hay.
Sunday 11 Oct 1894
A chilly rather
disagreeable day. Wind NW.
Snow showers with gleams of
sunlight. Rachel came over this morning
to go to Carlton but didn't go on
account of unfavorable outlook of the
[rest of bottom left hand corner torn, missing text indicated with a #]
# ate breakfast and dinner with me
# then went back goin to Wills Rene
# here to dinner. Edith Knight
# night. Grace & Edith went up
# Niles & Voltie went up there in
# to come home north
# here twice to day. I have Voltie
# Maude and E bread and an
# Eben Joslin died this morning
