Jan 28th A fine winter day
sun shining brightly, cold wind
N, the river frozen over, a light
fall of snow on the ground that
fell last night. Welly not very well
yet but he hung out the clothes Eveline
washed yesterday. I am lying on
my book in bed writing this. Grace is
cooking beans and beef. John stops
home from school to help his father draw
hay from the old barn. Poor dear little
Muriel is sick with worms. I am
not well yet, but much better. Wells
sleeps on the lounge every night by
the stove to keep fires going. Two men
crossed here on the ice today by Ebb's.
Welly went to the corners for worm
medicine for the baby and got blue calico
for Bell & Eveline came back after dark.
John & Grace go to Rattrays for evening visit.
