yacht to a baseball contest with Claytonions. We don...
our usual Saturday's work & churned. Maude went
strawberrying for dinner and in p.m. went to
see Inez Niles. Will and Jess Reid fishing today
Weaver went to Cape with fish for Miss Dixon. Reid & Niles
this am before going to Grindstone with the baseball player.
Bernard Morgan left at home, proceeded to get himself there the
best way he could. Our boys were beaten at the
base ball game by those Clayton fellows. Grace
this evening went up to Morgans with Bernard in our
boat. Voltie went early to bed

Friday 1896
A very hot day no rain for some long
time. Vegetation and Nature do not look very much dried up
considering the long drougth [sic: drought]. Well. Nellie has made her
annual visit and gone to Kingston again and we do very
much as we please today. Irene churns and does all the dairy work
& washes a few articles. Voltie plowing our potatoes on Grange.
The potatoes here in Orchard are most beautiful and
