Monday 31 Dec 1894 Snowing
this morning fast but no wind & soft
wind East, broken ice on this shore
At nine the sun come up
brightly. Wells Sr and Mart drawing
hay. Wellie not come up yet
Been cutting fir wood in Wellingtons
wood. I darned mittens and fixed
some for Mart, made scrap book
Grace wrote Nellie a letter
Wells Sr and Mart sawed off
the end of one of the maple
logs, snowed most all day
Mart & Wallace went a hunting
for ducks got nothing. Wellie
came to bring the team home after
drawing a load of wood for himself
and Will Dixon. Snows in Eve
Tuesday 1st January 1895
Another New Year ushered in
by a grand snow storm
Wind South. I see Bamford
looking at a hickory stick, guess
he's going to make an axe handle
