Many thanks for your letter. I will let Lord Cromer know that you are still "disponible", and if anything suitable turns up in Egypt,

you may be sure that we shall not forget your wish for service there. I agree with Lord Cromer that it would not be worth your while to give

up any definite opportunity for an uncertain chance.

I am afraid that my movements are too uncertain to enable me to accept engagements to dine out just at
