[typewritten] FOREIGN OFFICE,
May 18th, 1917.

[strikethrough] Dear Professor [/strikethrough] [handwritten] My dear [typewritten] Murray,

We have received a telegram from the British
Embassy at Washington, pointing out to us the good effect
that would result upon American opinion if you could see
your way amid the pressure of other work to grant an
interview upon schools and the war time problems of
education. Other subjects which might valuably come into
the interview would be educational work amongst soldiers
in camp and at the front by means of lectures and text
books.

If you could be so kind as to give this interview
we would send it out to the United States to be given
to an important News Service there.

Yours sincerely,
