[handwritten] [V. WATNEY]

[printed] CORNBURY PARK,
CHARLBURY,
OXFORDSHIRE.

[handwritten] 25 May 1921

[printed] TELEPHONE
I, CHARLBURY.

[handwritten] My dear Buchan,

"Some Books are to be Tasted, other to be
Swallowed, and some Few to be Chewed and Digested."

I am sending to you a copy of my
book on Cornbury; not without diffidence,
for I know many of its defects; but,
such as it is, if you care to keep it,
and to taste it, I shall be glad;
and, as Dizzy said, "Books are companions,
even if you do n't open them."

Yours very truly,
Vernon Watney
