Elsfield Manor, OXFORD.

30th September, 1926.

John Edgar, Esq.,
36, Charia el Falahi,
Cairo.

My dear John,

I am so sorry I missed you. It was bad luck we saw so
little of each other these holidays. I greatly enjoyed my visit to
C.H.D. and Shetland. Another year you must make that tempestuous trip.

I had some very good fishing and deerstalking in the
West Highlands afterwards, and for two consecutive nights danced
reels at the Oban Gathering!

I hope you have got safely back to Egypt. If Susie and I
go to Palestine in the early spring we shall see you in your native
haunts.

Kindest regards to your wife,

Yours ever,

John Buchan
