All Wednesday morning we spent in the Pierpont Morgan
library. Such an amazing treasure-house! I would give
anything for Walter to see it. It made one gasp to open
a little book & find it the MS of Scott's Journal, &
another the MS of The Rose & The Ring, and to come on
"A thing of beauty is a joy for ever" in Keat's handwriting.
We lunched with Miss Bella Greene [ST: Bella Greene Librarian?] with a large [?] party,
& then were taken for a drive. On Wednesday night the Harvard
Club gave us a dinner. In America your health is proposed
repeatedly & you have to make a speech every time.
I made about 10 that night. Everybody sends me books &
flowers, & we are heavy laden.

I see you are having an election this month
