Dear Buchan
Please allow me to tell you with what interest and pleasure I have read your book on Glencoe in the series of great occasions!
It may seem rather late to send this, and perhaps I have been tardy in reading it; but my time for reading is not great and is usually only in holidays.

You make the story so vivid and draw the picture of that weather-beaten valley so forcibly: and then you are so fair in your distribution of blame - a well balanced judgment pervades the book.
Please do not write, we shall meet soon.
Yrs sincerely Hanworth
