Kingston, 7th March 1843

The Senate met at the call of the Principal.
Present. The Principal, Professor Campbell,
and the Revd. James Williamson M.A. of
the University of Edinburgh, Professor of
Mathematics and Natural Philosophy who
took his seat for the first time, Revd. J. Machar,
Honble. J. Hamilton, F. A. Harper Esqu.

The Principal stated that he had called
the Senate together for the purpose of considering
a Petition presented by the Students in
Divinity to the Trtustees, praying to be released
from attendance at the College before the period
fixed upon for the Close of the Session, which
petition had been referred by the Trustees
to the Senate.

The Senate having instituted an enquiry
into the circumstances and prospects of
the petitioners, the Students in Divinity,
find that it will be improfitable for them
to continue their attendance beyond
