Status: Complete

of the few Bursaries which the Senatus have had
at their disposal has been experienced in their enabling
various young men of the most promising qualifications
to continue their course, whose means were too limited
for them to do without aid, as well as in stimulating
them to exertion, the Bursaries being conferred only on
the diligent deserving.

£ 90, that is, a Bursary of £15 per annum for
six years, would enable a most useful young man to
complete his studies for the Ministry, who would afterwards
be supported by the Clergy Reserves, and the Congregation
among whom he might be called to labour, and in this
way there would be no further burden on the funds
of the Committee by providing for the spiritual necessities
of that portion of the Colonial vineyard.

The Senatus feel themselves the more constrained
to make this application because of the great increase
in the number of new Students this year. They therefore
earnestly request the Colonial Committee to grant, for this
Session at least, the Bursaries of £15 or £12.10/ each,
and the names, and qualifications, of those to whom
they shall be awarded will be forwarded to the
Committee
