agreed to recommend further that all transactions
connected with the purchase of books
for the Library should in future be executed by
the Librarian.

It was estimated that the following number
of prizes should be awarded in the several
Classes.
Systematic Theology 1
Professor Mowat's Classes 3
" Weir's — 18
" Williamson's " 9
" Murray's " 4
" Lawson's " 3.
The Senatus considered further that
$100 would be a sufficient sum to expend
on the purchase of these prizes, which would
give the required number at an average
value of $2.60 each, and it was agreed to
submit a minute of the above to the consideration
of the Trustees.~

The meeting was then closed with the
benediction.~

With the entry of February 24, 1863, Principal Leitch co-signs the minutes, presumably well after the fact, as minutes from later in the year are co-signed by William Snodgrass, Leitch's successor as Principal, with the notation that Dr. Leitch is deceased. Leitch died in May 1864.
