session without examination as a student of the
first year on condition of his presenting a certificate
of attendance for one session at Victoria College,
but that before he can be admitted as a
student of the second year either in the curriculum
of three years or in that of four years, he will
require to undergo the regular matriculation examination
for that year; as well as to present a
satisfactory certificate of attendance and progress
at Victoria College as a student of the first year,
in the event of his being admitted according to the
old curriculum.

[margin]Prizes - value of[/margin][tab]The subject of prizes was taken up, and it
[margin]for each class[/margin]was agreed to request the Trustees to allow the following
amounts for prizes to the several classes
this session, viz. Mathematics $24, Classics $24,
Logic and Moral Philosophy $12, Natural Science
$12, Theology $12, Hebrew $12—it being understood
that each Professor is to be responsible for
any amount spent for his class prizes above that
here specified.

[margin]changes in curricu-[/margin][tab]The Report on the curriculum was adopted
[margin]lum recommended[/margin]with some amendments. In accordance with the
[margin]to the Trustees[/margin]Report, (the Senatus agreed to recommend to the
[margin]I[/margin]Trustees. 1. That in conformity with the course
now prescribed by the other Universities of Upper
and Lower Canada the Trustees enact that
four years shall be required to complete the Undergraduate
course in Arts, the session in each year
to commence on the first Wednesday of October
and to close on the last Thursday of April thereafter,
[margin]II[/margin]and 2. That the order of attendance on the
classes in each session shall be according to the following
scheme:
