A letter from William Hamilton Student
was read, stating that in consequence of his
having two first year-Class tickets, the
Presbytery of Montreal had refused to grant
him a Certificate, by which he might enter
the Divinity-Hall. He reminded the
Senate that at the time he was thrown
back a second time into the Junior Class,
he was given to understand, that should he
make satisfactory progress, his second year
in the Junior Class would be reckoned as one
year in the Arts Curriculum. The Senate
admit that such was the case and that his
progress was satisfactory .~ He wished further
to know, what steps he should take to entitle
him to come forward for Degree of B.A. The Senate
recommend—that while attending the Theological
Classers he should take the Natural Philosophy
this Session and the Senior Classics
next, and that thereafter on undergoing
a satisfactory Examination said Degree
may be conferred on him. ~
