the highest number of marks received
by any of the competitors being considerably
less than it was last year, & the
four competitors who rank highest being
nearly on an equality..

The Senatus met and was constituted.
Sederunt Dr. Williamson in the Chair,
Professors Murray, Bell, and Mowat, and
Mr. Donald Ross, Lector in Classics and Fellow
of the University.
The minutes of the last meeting were
read [and] approved.

year on a review of their written papers and
oral answers passed the University Examination,
ranking in the order of their
names; and the Senatus agreed to recommend
them to the Senate for the degree
of B.A.:

4. Josias J, Bell with honours in mathematics, physics & philosophy
